Riley County Police have released names of those involved in a shooting KMAN first told you about early Sunday morning. The shooting was reported at 1:20 a.m. in the 600 block of North 12th Street.
Mark Self Jr., 31, of Manhattan, Kansas was arrested after the deployment of an electronic control device, otherwise known as a TASER, while in the 1100 block of Laramie Street following a short foot pursuit. He was booked into the Riley County Jail for two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, criminal discharge of a firearm in an occupied building, and criminal discharge of a firearm in an un-occupied building. Self’s bond was set at $300,000.
Kevin Green, 26, of Manhattan, Kansas, was listed as a victim in this investigation after sustaining a gunshot wound which was not considered life threatening. Green was released from medical care at approximately 5:30 AM on Sunday. A second victim was listed after sustaining minor injury as a result of shrapnel from gunfire. This victim, Jeremy Caudill, 19, of Fort Riley did not require medical attention.
Police believe this to be an isolated event stemming from a physical altercation earlier that evening. No additional arrests are anticipated.
