Debora Howser has been named the Executive Director of Special Services for USD 383. Howser comes to USD 383 from Topeka Public Schools were she serves as a consulting teacher. Prior to that, she was the Director of Special Services for USD 372 in Silver Lake for five years. She has also been a special education teacher in several Kansas school districts. She has a B. Ed. in Elementary Education and a M. Ed. in Interrelated Special Education from Washburn University. She is currently working on her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University.
“I am very excited to be joining the team of outstanding educators in Manhattan-Ogden,” states Howser. “I’m looking forward to meeting new colleagues and am eager to work collaboratively with them to provide the best student services in the state.”
“We are pleased that Debora will be assuming the position of Executive Director for Special Services for USD 383,” states Superintendent Bob Shannon. “Her knowledge and skills in the field of special education and related services will be a great benefit to our students, teachers and parents.”
Howser will begin her position on July 1, 2013. She replaces Dr. Pam Russell who is retiring on June 30, 2013.
