A long customer line greeted the new PepperJax Grill in Manhattan Tuesday, with the restaurant in Aggieville opening its doors at 11 a.m.
Director of Operations Trent Smith tells KMAN they’re excited about being in Manhattan. He says the pictures on the wall have a local touch. Restaurant Spokesman Mike Jungers says there’s some research when it comes to the decor, with background on pictures provided by local historical societies and libraries.
The restaurant specializes in “America’s Best Philly” sandwiches–with the traditional steak, but also chicken, shrimp, and veggie varieties. And there’s a children’s menu with kids’ strips and corn dogs.
Jungers adds the founder Gary Rohwer started up the restaurant chain in 2002, seeing the direction quick casual restaurants were going. Customers are able to see the steak cooked right before their eyes.
New customer Hannibal Hays of Manhattan very happy with his sampling of the restaurant’s Philly Sandwich. Hays adds he was also impressed with the surroundings…
Pepper Jax is located at 1120 Moro Street in Aggieville. Resturants, Inc. owns and operates the restaurant, in addition to HuHot Mongolian Grill Restaurants in Kansas.
