Three Kansas Department of Corrections Inmates with Riley County convictions are up for the next set of public comment sessions and possible parole.
Shakeer Davis, 35, was convicted in late 1997 of murder in the first degree, attempted murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. The February 28th shooting in Manhattan resulted in the death of Wanda Norman and the wounding of John Garner. Davis was 17-years-old at the time of the offense.
And Albert Williams, 59, is being considered for parole on 1978 murder convictions in Riley and Shawnee Counties. The Riley County case involves the stabbing death of Pamela Parker, 24, during a robbery attempt at the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.Also to be considered is Roderick Fields, 55, who was convicted in connection with a 1984 rape case in Riley County. Fields also has been serving time for an aggravated robbery in Sedgwick County in 1993.
Public comment sessions are January 14th at the Derby Police and Courts building, January 16th at the Municipal Court House in Topeka, and January 26th at City Hall in Kansas City. Parole hearings will be in February with the earliest possible release from incarceration in March.
