Rob Voelker

Rob has been the Sports Director at KMAN since May of 2008.  He anchors sports on “KMAN’s Morning News” with Erik Stone and Cathy Dawes, co-hosts “The Game” with Matt Walters and John Kurtz, and does play-by-play for K-State volleyball, Manhattan High Basketball, and the Dick Edwards Ford Area Game of the Week on Hot Country B104.7.  Rob also fills in on K-State baseball, and is a co-host of Powercat Gameday.

Rob has been working in radio for over 15 years, starting his career at KLIN in Lincoln, NE when he was 16 years old.  He moved on to the University of Kansas, where he served as Sports Director at student-run 91.9 KJHK, did play-by-play for KLWN in Lawrence, and interned at WGN radio in Chicago, IL.  Rob also spent five years at KLMJ/KQCR radio in Hampton, IA before coming to Manhattan.

If you’ve listened to “The Game”, Rob never lets us forgets he’s a big fan of the Chicago sports teams, especially the Bears, Cubs and Bulls.  Music is his second love, and his life is now complete that he’s seen the Foo Fighters live in concert.  Rob also loves movies, and lists Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Pulp Fiction, and The Big Lebowski among his favorites.  He lives in Manhattan.
