James Gaume (40), of Manhattan, reported that between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, his 2006 black Dodge Charger has been stolen.
The total loss is $22,000.
An Ohio man has reported that someone has been using his id to pay utilities bills.
Joshua Shumaker (26), of Ohio, reported that between April 4th and September 6th someone has been charging utility bills to his name for $1,100.
Shumaker believes that the person is known to him.
A case of theft by deception has been reported in Manhattan based on a list serve notice.
Carrie Summers (25), of Manhattan, has reported the incident.
Riley County Police Department reported that the incident began as a list serve notice for a personal assistant job. The victim was paid with a bad check and was asked to wire money to another account. Once the check was discovered to be bad the money was already taken from the victims personal account.
The total loss was $3,400.
RCPD advises that people be cautious of scenarios like these and to be wary of wiring money to on over seas account and not seeing your employer in person.
A criminal damage to property has been reported to the Riley County Police Department.
Steven Jepsen (22), of Manhattan, reported that while at Manards at 515 McCall Road his car was damaged.
Between Wednesday and Thursday, Jepsen’s 2007 Nissan was damaged when an unknown person with an unknown device cut the canvas top of his car.
The damage totals $2,500.
Somewhere in Riley County a sexual battery took place.
A 17 year old female reported yesterday morning, that she was the victim of an aggravated sexual battery.
Riley County Detectives are still investigating.
