Police Blotter 11/27/12

According to Riley County Police reports a Kansas State Student was involved in an accidental weapon discharge incident on Monday morning.

Police say 23-year-old Jake Huber was clearing his semi -automatic handgun when he accidentally shot himself in the leg as he was driving eastbound on Kimball avenue. Huber drove himself to the Manhattan Emergency Surgical Center for treatment, and then was transferred by emergency personnel to Mercy Regional Health Center.

Huber was treated at Mercy Regional and then released on Monday afternoon.

Police say a Kansas State student and his room mates were victims of a house theft over Thanksgiving break.

Riley county police reports say 20-year-old K-state student Jake Dejarnette reported his Japanese sword worth over 1-thousand dollars was taken from his house near the 1800 block of Anderson sometime overnight on the November 25th. Dejarnette’s room mate Christian Leszczak also reported 4-thousand dollars worth of cash were also taken from the residence.

Police say the suspect appears to have gained entry from a broken side window in the house.

The investigation is open, and no arrests have been made at this time.

A party on Monday night was allegedly the scene of a theft.

24-year-old Joshua Eubanks, and 29-year-old Jamie Donaldson told police that sometime after 10pm an unknown suspect, or suspects stole several items from their home on the 2100 block of Patricia Place.

Riley County Police say several pieces of jewelry, and a Sony PSP were among the items allegedly taken from the residence.

Police say the total dollar amount from the alleged theft is over 4-thousand dollars.

Police say a local parent teachers fund is missing 3-thousand dollars from a charity event.

According to Riley County Police Amanda Arnold Elementary School PTO board member Nicolle Chippeaux a packet of money and checks from a recent charity program was missing on Monday morning.

Police say they couldn’t conclude on whether a crime has occurred, and continue to investigate the incident.

Riley County Police say a vehicle was reported stolen sometime during the day on Monday.

20-year-old Jacob Mickey told police his White 1996 Oldsmobile Sierra was not where he parked it on Monday. Mickey says it was taken sometime between 8am and 5:30 pm.

Police are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made at this time.
