Police Report: 30 April 2013


On Monday afternoon Riley County police arrested a Manhattan woman for failing to appear in court.

31-year-old Crystal Anderson was originally charged with theft, and had to or more previous theft convictions on her record.

Anderson is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Over the weekend Riley county police reports indicate a construction site was invaded, and various items stolen.

Police say the site, located on the 900 block of Moro, was left unsecured over the weekend.  Taken from the site was a black Husky job box, which contained various hand tools.

Total estimated loss in the theft is over $5,000.   The investigation is ongoing.

A Junction City man was arrested on drug charges Monday evening by Riley County Police.

Police say the arrest stemmed from a February 2012 investigation, and charges include distribution of cocaine, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, and aiding and abetting the use of marijuana.

Total bond for Steven Moore is set at $30,000.

A backpack full of electronic gear was reportedly stolen over the weekend from a Manhattan residence.

21-year-old Aaron Iman, a Kansas State stuident, told police his  backpack was taken from his residence on the 800 block of North 10th Street .   Iman says items also taken from inside the pack include a Macbook Pro, a calculator, and headphones.  Total estimated loss from the alleged theft is over $2,000.

Riley County police are investigating, and no arrests have been made at this time.

A family reunion reportedly has led to a car being stolen in Manhattan on Monday evening.

Jeannete Ewert, from Olsborg told Riley County police her 2001 Chevy Cavalier was stolen by an individual known to her while she was visiting family near the 900 block of Osage Street.  Estimated losses from the alleged incident are $2,000.

Police say while they have the suspects name, the investigation is ongoing, and so far the vehicle has not been recovered.
