The Riley County Police Department arrested Kristopher Shaw (30) of Manhattan on Saturday for domestic battery.
This arrest stemmed from a domestic incident involving a female victim known to him. Shaw was also arrested for child abuse after an incident with a 2-year-old victim. Injuries sustained by both victims were minor in nature. Shaw was confined at Riley County Jail and hadn’t posted his bond of $27,500 at the time of this report.
RCPD responded to a complaint of aggravated battery in the 1100 block of Vattier Street in Manhattan shortly after midnight on Friday. Upon arrival, police spoke with Ryan Pauly (19) of Manhattan who stated that he was battered at a house party by two unknown male subjects wearing Halloween costumes. Pauly sustained injuries to his face and nose.
The subjects were reported as being white males approximately 5’8” and 6’3” and approximately 200 pounds. One of the subjects was wearing a black wig. Officers continue to investigate this crime and ask for assistance from those with information, through the use of Crime Stoppers.
An aggravated burglary was reported in the 2800 block of Blakewood Place on Saturday between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. According to reports, an unknown subject(s) made entry into an unsecured and occupied residence.
Several items were taken including several tablet computers, a television, US currency and a mobile phone totaling an estimated value of $2,566. Khnyi Hlonyana (18) Faith Thanji (24) and two children under the age of 13 were in the residence at the time of the burglary and reported the crime to police. The Suspect(s) are unknown and those with information are encouraged to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
RCPD responded to a complaint of criminal damage to property at Johnny Kaws on Sunday at approximately 2:30 a.m. Prior to police arrival, it was reported that an unknown subject shoved Emilio Gonzalez (26) of Manhattan through the front window of the business. As a result, the window was shattered leaving Gonzalez with minor injuries. The suspect wanted for questioning in this case is a white male and was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt and jeans during the incident. The total estimated loss at this time is unknown.
