The Riley County Police Department released information today about an out-of-jurisdiction arrest. The Ottawa Police Department picked up Raymond Gallant (40) of St. George last week in connection with a warrant coming out of Manhattan and Riley County for failure to appear. The original offense was listed as driving while suspended. Both warrants landed Gallant in Riley County Jail on a $6,400 bond.
The Riley County Police Department arrested Derrick Marler (36) of Manhattan in the 1100 block of Garden Way Saturday for aggravated assault. Marler reportedly brandished a knife during a verbal argument with a 33-year-old male of Manhattan. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time due to the domestic nature of the incident. Marler is confined at the Riley County Jail on $5,000 bond.
The Riley County Police Department arrested Tyson Strauss (29) of Leonardville Sunday for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and criminal use of a weapon (the last offense was a result of a warrant from Riley County). Samantha Magnuson (41), also of Leonardville, was arrested with Strauss for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set for $3,000 and Strauss was held on $18,000 bond.
