Riley County Police responded to the collision near the intersection of Dickens and Seth Child Road. While traveling north on Seth Child, Kimberly Richardson (36), of Manhattan, was driving a 2011 Dodge Avenger, and collided with a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Margaret Esfeld (70) of Alma.
This accident occurred after Esfeld attempted to turn south onto Seth Child, from Dickens. Esfeld was cited for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign, and was admitted into Mercy Regional Health Center for hip pain.
Richardson was also transported to Mercy, for pain to the face and nose, but was treated and released.
The collision investigation tied up traffic in the area for a short time, as officers worked the scene.
Riley County Police made an arrest around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning, after an investigation into the possession of methamphetamine. This arrest was made in the 400 block of Fort Riley Boulevard.
Casey Lindley (26), of Manhattan, is confined on a $6,000 bond for one felony count of possession of drug paraphernailia and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Lindley was also arrested for probation violation, which added another $5,000 to the bond amount. Lindley’s total bond is now $11,000.
KMAN received word Thursday that the Riley County Police Department filed a report this week for past rape in the city limits of Manhattan.
This incident involved a 26 year old female and a suspect known to her, of similar age.
There have been no arrests made at this time.
