The Riley County Police Department released information Monday morning regarding a motor vehicle accident involving two cars.
Officers responded to the accident early Friday morning near the intersection of McCall Road and Hayes Drive in Manhattan.
According to the report, Ethan Loy (24) of Beloit was travelling east on McCall Road in a 2001 Ford F150, when the truck collided with a 2011 Ford Taurus driven by Lavon Carter (69) of Junction City.
Carter was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center for pain following the accident, which is currently under investigation.
The Riley County Police Department released a report Monday morning detailing a car accident which uccurred early Friday afternoon near the intersection of Kearney Street and 3rd Street in Manhattan.
Lisa Portz (45) of St. George was traveling South on 3rd Street in her 2011 Chevy Silverado when her vehicle was struck by a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Margaret Gonzales (65) of Manhattan who was traveling east on Kearney Street.
Gonzales was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. As a result of the accident, Portz was transported to Mercy Regional with non-life threatening injuries.
Riley County Police arrested a Manhattan woman over the weekend for a variety of traffic violations including DUI.
Carrie McDowell (34) of Manhattan was pulled over by police near Seth Child Road and Marlatt Avenue early Saturday morning. She was subsequently arrested for DUI, driving while her license was cancelled, suspended, or revoked, obstructing the legal process and driving without ignition interlock.
McDowell’s bond was set for $8,000 and she has since been released from custody.
