Riley County Police arrested a St George man over the weekend for a warrant that came out of Pottawatomie County.

Colton Magnuson (23) was arrested at Manhattan Town Center, and his warrant listed theft and criminal use of a financial card as the offenses.

Magnuson was confined and later released from Riley County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Riley County Police arrested a Manhattan man over the weekend for a variety of violations following a motor vehicle accident.

Keith Wysong (18) was arrested for aggravated battery, interference with law enforcement, and failure to report a vehicle accident.

The arrest stemmed from an incident which occurred in the 2900 block of Pillsbury Drive. Wysong was driving his 1999 Chevy Silverado when it got into a single vehicle collision and ejected a passenger, Adam Hollingsworth (22) of Overland Park.

Hollingsworth was eventually transported to Mercy Regional for treatment of injuries.

Wysong was held and later released from Riley County Jail on $15,000 bond.

The Riley County Police Department released information Monday regarding a report of a rape it filed on Friday.

The victim, listed as a 19-year-old female, reported that two male subjects had sexual intercourse with her at different times of the night.

This incident took place when the victim was too intoxicated to give consent. No arrests have been made at this time, but an investigation is on-going.

The Riley County Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday in the Manhattan area. The checkpoint is scheduled to run into the early hours of Sunday May 11, 2014.

The purpose of the checkpoint is to detect and deter impaired drivers. Motorists suspected of impairment will be given on-site field sobriety tests. Impaired drivers will be arrested and transported to the Riley County Jail. Efforts will be made to minimize interruptions to traffic flow, but many drivers will be stopped briefly as part of this checkpoint.
