The Riley County Police Department had a busy weekend with 67 reports filed and 23 arrests made.
Walter White, 59, of Manhattan was arrested on Saturday for criminal use of a financial card, forgery, making false writing, felony identity theft, and computer crime. These offenses occurred in the 1000 block of Goodnow Avenue in Manhattan between December 2012 and June of this year when White opened a line of credit in someone else’s name. White was held on a $12,000 bond and has since been released.
Riley County Police arrested Shawn Sime, 34, of Manhattan on Sunday for domestic battery, criminal damage to property, aggravated intimidation of a witness and battery. He was confined at Riley County Jail at the time of this report on a $20,000 bond.
James Davis, 19, of Manhattan was arrested Saturday on a warrant for unlawful possession of opiates, burglary, and theft. Incidents leading up to Davis’ arrest occurred earlier in the year. Davis was held on a $5,000 bond and has since been released.
Several vehicles were damaged over the weekend in Manhattan.
RCPD responded to a complaint of criminal damage to property on Sunday in the 2000 block of Thackery Street in Manhattan. Sharon Reilly, 52, of Manhattan reported that her Subaru was damaged. Her vehicle received nearly $3,000 in damage when an unknown subject left scratches and damaged the a window. No arrests have been made at the time of this report.
And an unrelated report of criminal damage to property was also made to RCPD on Sunday. Trevor Keller, 19, Timothy Stueder, 19, James Goddard, 66, Agnes Wojnas, 22, Jacob Hoover, 25, Christopher Solano, 31, and Steven Miranda, 24, all of Manhattan reported that vehicles belonging to them were damaged after midnight on the 29th. A Buick, Dodge Truck, Mercury SUV, Mazda, Pontiac, Ford Truck, and Honda all sustained scratches with a total damage amount of $2,100.
A rape from one week ago was reported to police on September 30, 2013. The victim in this case was a 5 year old female who was reportedly molested by a 9 year old male who was known to her. This incident occurred in Manhattan, Kansas and no further information is available to release due to the nature of this crime.
