On Tuesday, a project began to remove and replace two concrete pavement panels located at the K-18 and Scenic Drive south roundabout interchange southwest of Manhattan. The two concrete panels were damaged by an overturned concrete truck that rolled on June 24, 2014.
Project work will take place during daylight hours, Monday–Friday, with some occasional Saturday work. There will be an 11-foot width restriction throughout the work zone during the project duration. Drivers should expect only minor delays.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
Bryant and Bryant Construction Inc., of Halstead, is the primary contractor on this pavement replacement project with a total contract cost of $18,158. The scheduled overall completion date for the project is mid- to late April 2015, weather permitting.
