K-State coach Bruce Weber has once again completed his 2013 recruiting class. After learning six-foot-11 big man Neville Fincher didn’t qualify academically last month and will attend junior college, the Cats suddenly had one scholarship remaining.
Cathedral High School and Compton Magic AAU coach William Middlebrooks confirmed to SportsRadio 1350 KMAN that 6 foot 7 inch, 215-pound small forward Jack Karapetyan of Los Angeles, CA signed with K-State on Sunday night. He picked the Cats after a visit to Manhattan over the weekend, in favor of his other finalist, Long Beach State.
Middlebrooks will join KMAN’s “The Game” on Tuesday afternoon.
K-State has added seven new players to their program in 2013 including four who will be eligible to start the season. Karapetyan is joined by guards Marcus Foster and Nigel Johnson, along with forward Wesley Iwandu. Point guard Jevon Thomas will join the team after the fall semester is complete, while Maine transfer Justin Edwards and Georgetown transfer Brandon Bolden will sit out the upcoming season due to NCAA rules.
