Even with the amount of snow in the area, The Riley county police department did not see a lot of activity Thursday. That’s according to Public Information Officer Matthew Droge.
There were 37 motorists assisted, mostly from slide offs and needing help getting unstuck and 11 accidents, none of which resulted in ambulance transfers.
By the way, the National Weather Service’s latest report of snow fall in the Manhattan area indicates 9.7 inches from Thursday’s storm.
An accident involving a pedestrian was reported a little after midnight Thursday.
Coryn Correll was walking westbound in the 1300 block of Fremont when a truck collided with her. Correll did not sustain any major injuries, but detials regarding the truck which struck her are still unknown.
A get-together may be the reason a Manhattan man had property stolen.
Logan Papen, 20, of the 800 block of Bluemont, reported to the Riley County Police Department sometime been 10 pm on February 16th and 2 am on the 17th his mac book pro laptop was taken from his residence.
Police stated there was a get together of some kind that took place prior to the discovery of the missing property.
The total loss was $1500.
