Police say an unknown suspect has stolen John Deere Gator from a local park building.
According to Riley County police reports sometime Sunday evening, or early Monday morning unknown suspects broke into a garage holding the Gator, and made off with the equipment. Total estimated losses from the theft totaled $8,700.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
On Monday an initial report of stolen guns has led to an arrest of a Manhattan man by Riley County Police early Tuesday morning.
According to police an anonymous tip led to investigating patrol officers to arrest Ernest Hamstra for burglary, criminal damage to property, and obstruction of the legal process. Hamstra was arrested after being interviewed by police at the station. All of the stolen weapons have been recovered, but authorities say ammunition from the incident is still missing.
Hamstra is confined on a $10,000 bond.
A Clay Center woman was arrested by Riley County police for failing to appear in court on Monday morning.
20-year-old Ashley Brundige was arrested on warrants out of Clay county, and was originally charged with forgery, and theft.
Brundige is being held on a $8,000.
