A deadly flash flood parted Robert Rogers from his wife and four children in 2003. Their minivan was swept off a Kansas highway on their way back from Wichita by the flood and left him the only survivor of the family. Rogers is the Founder of Mighty in the Land Ministry with Knights of Columbus is in Manhattan on May 2, to share his story with the group’s State Convention.
“My wife and four children were killed in that flash flood. So I really didn’t know what to do.” he told KMAN, “I’m only here by the grace of God and I said ‘Lord, I don’t know what to do, I give you my life, what do you want from me, cause everything I have worth living for-my family was gone.’”
Rogers has never lost his faith in God. He is now traveling the country, talking to groups and helping them find hope in their life.
“I always share different elements and different scripture, but bottom line when I share, is people know God personally.” he said, “and that’s why I have peace, just because I know my family did, and now they are with him in heaven.”
