Royals Score Late To Beat M’s

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Salvador Perez drove in Mike Moustakas with two outs in the eighth inning, and the Kansas City Royals survived after blowing a three-run lead to beat the Seattle Mariners 4-3 on Tuesday night.

Billy Butler had just grounded into a double play against Seattle reliever Yoervis Medina when Moustakas legged out a double to center in the eighth. Perez followed with a single to left, and Moustakas had just enough time for a headfirst slide ahead of Endy Chavez’s throw to home.

Luke Hochevar got two outs earlier in the eighth to leave runners stranded on second and third, and Greg Holland pitched a perfect ninth for his 31st straight save and 38th on the year.
