The Kansas State Women’s Basketball team saw their season-opening six-game winning streak come to an end on Friday night with a 51-48 loss to Wichita State at Koch Arena.
Wichita native Ashia Woods led three Wildcats in double figures with 13 points while Breanna Lewis scored 12 points and Haley Texada added 10. Leading the way for the Shockers with a game-high 22 points was Alex Harden with 22 points. K-State trailed by as many as 11 points before rallying to tie the game in the final minutes. The Wildcats had a chance to tie the game and send it to overtime but a long-range three-point attempt fell short.
Kansas State (6-1) is back at Bramlage Coliseum on Sunday to face Oral Roberts. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. and the Men’s game that follows against Savannah State will tip at 5 p.m.
