Chairman and editor in chief of Forbes Media, Steve Forbes, took the stage to loud applause in McCain auditorium on Monday night.
Forbes touted some of the same themes from his previous presidential run including flat taxes, using the gold standard to set the value of the dollar, and removing excess regulation. Forbes blamed the recession on the volatility of the dollar, and made mention of monetary policy as being one of the roots of instability within the nation’s economic system.
Forbes believes many of these issues will be resolved in the upcoming election for president, but declined to comment on his pick for a presidential candidate saying “I’m still looking at the field”.
