Former K-State golfer Robert Streb finished his first round of the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay with a four-over 74. He finished his round with five bogeys and one birdie.
Topeka native Gary Woodland also checked in with a 74 with his first round. His card tallied six bogeys and two birdies. Woodland was hospitalized after his round with severe dehydration and sources say Woodland is hoping to be better for his 2nd round later on Friday afternoon.
Streb is scheduled to tee off at 3:55 p.m. Friday, Woodland is scheduled to tee off at 3:33 p.m.
Tiger Woods shot a 10-over 80 in the first round. Henrik Stenson and Dustin Johnson lead after day one at five-under par.
