Late Monday afternoon, staff at Via Christi Hospital on College Ave. in Manhattan received a piece of mail that they later deemed to be suspicious in nature.
With the purpose of being overly cautious the Riley County Police Department Hazardous Materials Response Team and Bomb Team with assistance from the Manhattan Fire Department Hazardous Materials Response Team responded to the call.
It was later determined that the suspicious piece of mail was a document that posed no risk to public safety.
The Riley County Police Department would like to thank the Manhattan Fire Department for their assistance and continued support.
