Breanna Lewis scored 14 points but Kansas State got little else production as the Wildcats could not make an early 10-2 lead stand up and wound up falling at TCU 64-44 Wednesday night at the soon to be renovated Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Ft. Worth.
After building up their early lead, the Wildcats saw a repeat of whats happened to them in earlier conference games when the opponent goes on a huge run that K-State is unable to recover from. On Wednesday night the Horned Frogs went on a 27-3 surge to lead 29-13 at halftime. From there the Frogs never looked back as they sent the Cats to their 10th conference loss.
Leticia Romero scored nine points for Kansas State while Ashia Woods added eight. Zahna Medley led all scorers to pace TCU with 16 points while Natalie Ventress added 15.
Kansas State (10-15, 4-10) will return to action on Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum vs. nationally-ranked West Virginia. The Mountaineers won the earlier meeting between the two teams 84-44 in Morgantown last month. Tipoff on Saturday is set for 5 p.m.
