Zahna Medley scored 18 points and TCU shot 75 percent from behind the three-point line in the first half as the Horned Frogs avenged an earlier loss to Kansas State with a 67-47 blowout of the Wildcats Saturday in Big 12 Women’s Basketball action in Ft. Worth, Texas.
TCU was as hot in the first half as K-State was cold as they streaked out to a 30-16 halftime lead as the Wildcats made just seven shots from the floor. Things didn’t get much better for Jeff Mittie’s squad in the second half as the Wildcats shot just 30 percent for the game spoiling Mittie’s first game back in the Metroplex since he left TCU last spring to take the head coaching job at K-State.
Kindred Wesemann was the top Wildcat scorer with nine points while Ashia Woods and Ashley Jones each added seven.
Kansas State (16-12, 6-11) will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday when they host West Virginia on Senior Night. The Big 12 Tournament begins on March 6 in Dallas. Tip-off on Tuesday is set for 7 p.m.
