Several Manhattan residents got a scare Tuesday afternoon when a man fired “test” shots from a pellet gun near a pawn shop.
Riley County police responded to the scene at 416 S. 4th Street around 4:20 PM after receiving reports of a man firing what was believed by bystanders to be a rifle.
Officers arrived on scene and were able to determine that this unknown male was test firing an air rifle (pellet gun) near a local pawn shop.
A report was filed for aggravated assault as several community members were in the area and placed in reasonable apprehension of fear.
