After a thrilling win Friday night in the series opener, the Kansas State Wildcats defense deserted them on Saturday as they committed five errors allowing Texas to take advantage for a 6-3 victory before 6,064 Saturday afternoon at Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
Matt Wivinis (6-2) took the loss for the Wildcats who fell behind 5-0 after just four innings. Although he was tagged for four runs on the day, thanks to the errors just one of them was earned. The Bat Cats offense came off the bat of Jared King who had a two-run double in the fifth inning and a sacrifice fly by Friday night hero Ross Kivett in the eighth frame.
Kansas State (33-15, 10-7) will go for a rare series win in Austin in the final game of the set on Sunday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
