Two arrests have been made in Wabuansee county on aggravated burglary and other charges, after an obvious search off I-70 Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
The second suspect was just apprehended late Tuesday morning at the old Gas and Shop, located at the K-99 and I-70 Junction. He’s been identified as Troy Claspill, 31, of Topeka. Shawn Morris, 42, of Topeka was arrested at about five Monday evening in connection with the same case. Both face $75,000 bonds.
Wabaunsee County sheriff’s department officials were initially contacted at 12:42 Monday afternoon by a county resident who noticed an unfamiliar person driving a neighbor’s pickup near Alma. The 2003 Chevy 3/4 ton truck was loaded with several other items. KHP assisted Wabaunsee county in locating the pickup a short time later, after the driver and passenger drove into a pasture and fled on foot.
Both Morris and Claspill face charges of aggravated burglary, fleeing and attempting to elude, obstruction, and attempted theft.
