Two Kansas Department of Corrections inmates serving time on Geary County convictions have apparently been passed over for parole.
Keith Brown’s earliest possible release date is now set for October of 2021. Brown, 56, was convicted in Geary county in 1991 on charges of aggravated burglary, rape, and aggravated robbery. He most recently has been held at the El Dorado Correctional Facility.
Alex Mackey, 56, has been serving time on a 1983 theft charge in Geary County, although he has more serious convictions of aggravated robbery and burglary and drug-related counts in Sedgwick, Finney, and Atchison Counties. Mackey, who is currently housed at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, has a new possible release date of October of 2015.
Both men were up for public comment sessions in August.
