Two Manhattan High wrestlers brought home some hardware from the 6A state tournament on Saturday afternoon at Hartman Arena in Wichita.
Kian Clemens won the title in the 132 lb. weight class while Austin Chauncey won state in the 160 lb. class. The Tribe finished 9th at this year’s Class 6A tournament, just ahead of Junction City, who came in 11th. St. James Academy won the state meet, easily outpacing 2nd place Garden City.
Other notable performers for the Tribe included Mason Wallace who finished 3rd at 120 lbs. and Eldon Picou who placed 6th at 285. In Class 4A at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Dalton Carley of Wamego placed 3rd at 126 lbs. while in Class 3-2-1A at Fort Hays State University, Danny Grater of Riley County came in 2nd at 182 lbs., Marc Reiss of Rock Creek finished 5th at 145 lbs. and Kyle Ames of Onaga placed 6th at 182 lbs.
