The Riley County Police Department has provided more details about an accident that occurred Wednesday night at the intersection of McCall Road and Tuttle Creek Boulevard.
Michele Chavis, 34, of Riley was traveling southbound on Tuttle Creek Boulevard when she began to turn east onto McCall Road and struck a Chevy Impala driven by Raymond Emer, 51, of Manhattan.
Chavis was checked by the Riley County EMS and was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center for complaints of neck and leg pains.
Chavis was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.
After the completion of the police department’s accident investigation, the intersection was opened again.

Riley County emergency personnels responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of McCall Road and Tuttle Creek Boulevard late Wednesday night.
Upon arrival, the crews found a person entrapped in one of the vehicles and forced opened a vehicle door. Together the fire department and the Riley County Emergency Medical Services assisted the entrapped individual and provided patient care.
