The Wamego City Commission adopted its 2016 budget as presented on Thursday. The Commission opened the Budget Public Hearing for 2016 with no one in attendance.
City Manager Merl Page presented a Resolution for adoption, stating new requirements require the governing body to establish a policy if the 2016 mill levy increase is greater than 2015’s. The 2016 Mill Levy increase is 1.027. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 4 to 0, with Commissioner Bill Ditto absent.
The Commission adopted the 2016 budget as presented after being published in the Wamego Times as prescribed by state law.
