Wildcats Continue to Ascend the Polls

Far away from home, the K-State men’s basketball won their sixth straight game on Saturday 65-64 at West Virginia. The pollsters took note as the Cats rise up two spots to #16 in the AP and jumped from #23 to #18 in the USA Today Coaches’ poll. K-State will take their first trip to TCU in Big 12 play on Wednesday night for a 8:00pm tipoff in Fort Worth. Coverage will begin at 7:00pm on 101.5 K-Rock from the K-State Sports Network.

For the second consecutive week, Kansas the only other Big 12 team ranked at #4 in both polls. The Jayhawks have won 14 straight after a 61-44 victory on Monday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

Louisville jumped from third to #1 in both polls but is far from a unanimous pick. Preseason #1 Indiana is back up to the #2 spot and Duke drops two spots to #3. The Hooisers and Blue Devils are still receiving a significant amount of first place votes.  Michigan falls three spots to round out the top five.
