Manhattan High pitcher Jesse Steinbring was selected as a second team all-state pitcher for class 6A. He was also a second team all-centennial league selection. This adds to Steinbring’s already impressive list of accomplishments during his Manhattan High career. Last season, Steinbring was the league pitcher of the year and a second team Louisville Slugger all-american. He has signed to play next season at Central Missouri State. Other Indians that made honorable mention all centennial league were Garrett Francis, Tanner Holen, Brady Woborny and Nick Wohler.

The Wamego boys golf team finished in a tie for second with their team score at the 4A state tournament but lost the tiebreaker to officially take third in McPherson. Buhler ran away with the team title by shooting 293, and Wamego and Rose Hill each shot 310. Mac McNish of Buhler won the individual title with a 67. Ryan Elder led the way for the Red Raiders with a ninth place finish after firing a 74. Parker Waters was right behind in tenth place with a score of 75. Cooper Spears wasn’t far behind with a 78.

– Manhattan High girls soccer had their season end after a 4-0 loss to Maize in the 6A state quarterfinals. MHS finished the season with a 14-3-2 record. – Manhattan High boys golf took 4th place in the 6A state tournament in Hutchinson. The Indians had a team score of 300 and all six players shot in the 70’s. Cole Dillon led the way for the Indians with a 4th place finish after shooting a 72.

Manhattan High finished at the top of the Centennial League all-sports standings for the 2014-15 school year. Each year the results are tallied with ten points awarded for the league champion (nine points for second place, etc.) in each individual sport. The Indians led the way with 172.5 total points, while Washburn Rural was second with 160.5 points. Manhattan was first in the boys standings with 95.5 points and second to Washburn Rural in the girls standings with 82.5 points.
