Currently the host of "KMAN's Morning News", Troy is a 30 year veteran of radio, nearly 20 in northern Colorado, where he served as the "Voice of the UNC Bears" while serving as the news and sports director for one of the oldest AM stations in the country. No stranger to Manhattan nor Kansas, Troy is an alum of K-State in broadcast journalism and grew up near Circleville. He began his broadcast career with KSDB-FM on campus while working part time at another radio station in town. He's married to the former Monica Haugsness of Seneca, who has patiently put up with his schedule for more than 25 years.

After scrambling to gain a lead at halftime Sunday afternoon, the K-State men’s basketball team couldn’t maintain in dropping a 62-46 decision to Nebraska. The K-State football team picked up its second major commitment in 24 hours yesterday as four-star wide receiver Trae Davis announced his plans to attend the school. Davis was originally committed to Washington State but pulled back on that as K-State’s interest warmed. The senior wide receiver is Troup High School’s single game, season and career record-holder in receptions, receiving yards, touchdowns and return yards. Days after he was removed from K-State’s mens basketball program, Nae’Qwan Tomlin will take advantage of his remaining eligibility and play at Memphis. The graduate transfer told On3 that he has committed to join the Tigers at the start of next semester. That follows a tumultuous week that included Tomlin being dismissed from the Wildcats and his graduation from K-State on Saturday. The latest turn in the Nae’Qwan Tomlin story is that the forward has officially entered the transfer portal, days after his indefinite suspension was ended by a forced dismissal from K-State’s basketball team. Tomlin had been sidelined through the early part of the year because of an incident in Aggieville than ended with him charged with misdemeanor disturbing the peace and entering into a diversion agreement with Riley County prosecutors. Almost 24 hours after the removal of Nae’Qwan Tomlin from the men’s basketball team became official, head coach Jerome Tang issued his first comment on the matter, using a video to make a plea for all moving forward. The video was released just hours after Tang and assistant Jareem Dowling spoke with a group of students preparing to protest outside school president Dr. Richard Linton’s house for a second straight day, calling for Tomlin’s reinstatement. Both Manhattan High basketball teams took home trophies from the 41st annual Hays City Shootout, claiming wins both Friday and Saturday to finish fourth in their respective tournaments. The boys used wins over Sunrise Christian (71-50) and Newton (63-45) to close the weekend after opening the tournament with a loss on Friday. Both Manhattan High basketball teams suffered season opening losses Thursday at the Hays City Shootout, falling to the boys and girls of Millwood from Oklahoma City. The girls fell 60-52, the boys 87-62. The Indians led most of the girls contest, having withstood runs that brought Millwood to within one during the second and third quarters.
