BOE Continues Scheduling Discussion

The next scheduling issue was brought before the Manhattan Ogden school board at their Wednesday meeting.

Beginning the night, a report was given from the Manhattan High school scheduling task force on the different options for the board to consider.

Of the three options, the present schedule at the high school was given, along with a six period schedule and a six plus one period schedule.

The board had some discussion, but will open the issue to a public hearing early in January.

Other issues that were on the agenda included the final approval for the senior early release that ended with a 5 – 2 vote with board members, Pete Paukstelis and Walt Pesaresi dissenting.

The board also approved the facility analysis for the east campus, the bid for an eight passenger van and the radio communications plan unanimously.

Under the special recognition section of the meeting, Stephanie Smith, director of food service was recognized for being certified as a child nutrition manager and Austin Canady was recognized for achieving perfect scores on both the ACT and SAT.

The board’s next meeting will be on December 19.
