HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) A man scheduled to go on trial next week for a Hutchinson shooting death pleaded guilty in the case.
Isaac Beltran (21) pleaded guilty Thursday to reckless killing Dustin Brooks (26) of Hutchinson as the two men argued. Police say Beltran shot Brooks during a large party at a Hutchinson home. No one else was injured.
The Hutchinson News reports Reno County District Attorney Keith Schroeder said the plea deal likely would result in a 10-year prison sentence for Beltran.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 21
