Like they have all season long, the Manhattan High girls basketball team made it look easy in their Sub-State title game. The Lady Indians (21-1) used a 21-0 run to start the game to knock off Lawrence Free State (13-9) 62-43. Earning their first trip to the 6A state tournament since 2015.
K-State commit Chrissy Carr scored a team high 15 points. Off the bench, sophomore Haleigh Harper tallied a career-high 12 points. The Firebirds were led by junior Cameryn Thomas. She scored a game-high 17 points.
MHS will be the NO. 2 seed in the 6A state tournament that takes place at Koch Arena in Wichita. In their quarterfinals game, the Indians will face Olathe-Northwest (15-7) at 3:00 PM on Thursday.
The Manhattan High boys have also received a 2 seed for their 6A state tournament in Wichita. The Tribe’s run for their first ever state title begins with Lawrence (15-7) on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
