A former Executive Officer with the Flint Hills Area Builders Association has entered a plea in connection with several felony theft charges. Tracy Shane Roberts, 45, of Wamego entered the no contest plea last week, a couple of days before he was to have a jury trial in the case.
Court records indicated the plea agreement, with Senior County Deputy Attorney Barry Disney confirming the no contest plea Thursday (Aug 14). Disney adds no charges were dropped in the case.
Charges involving Roberts were announced more than a year ago, with a reported loss of more than $25,000 for the Flint Hills Area Builders Association. While those charges of theft by deception and making false writings were announced in July of 2013, Roberts was actually taken into custody on an arrest warrant in January of this year, with bond set at 60-thousand dollars. It was later announced in court that 30 counts of felony theft were involved.
Sentencing is set for September 22nd.
