RCPD-300x224A failure to appear warrant lands a Junction City man in the Riley County Jail.

Leron McElveen, 31, was arrested on Thursday at the Riley County Police Department for a warrant from Riley County.

The warrant stemmed from a theft back in 2012.

McElveen’s bond was set at $10,000.

An abandoned jeep here in Manhattan has been identified as one stolen from Kansas City.

On Thursday, in the 2400 block of Greenbriar Road in Manhattan, the Riley County Police recovered a 2006 Jeep that was reported stolen out of Kansas City.

Officers came into contact with this vehicle when it was found abandoned.

The total estimated loss and recovery is $12,000 and the Kansas City Missouri Police Department have notified of the discovery.

His unwillingness to pay for a few sandwiches lands a Manhattan man in the Riley County Jail.

Samuel Coriden, 21, was arrested Friday morning following an altercation with a couple of Riley County Police Officers after he tried to leave Jimmy Johns in Aggieville with several sandwiches without paying for them.

The altercation led Coriden to be arrest for two counts of battery on law enforcement officers and held on a $5,000 bond.

The Kansas State Campus Police made an arrest for a warrant in another jurisdiction , but the Riley County Jail is where the individual sat.

Thursday afternoon, the KSU Police arrested Austin Steer, 20, on a warrant out of Johnson County for felony theft and criminal damage to property.

Steer was held on a bond of $10,000.
