Noxious weed director Tim Eisenbarth reported more than $25,000 in sales for the month of July, saying that much of the figure is attributed to private sales. Eisenbarth also stated that his department produced 20 bales of cardboard and three bales of chemical jugs.

Pottawatomie County issued 13 building permits for a total of $1.36 million for the month of July. Zoning administrator Gregg Webster is in the process of drawing up a resolution to account for changes made to the county’s land use plan. Additionally, Webster mentioned the possibility of having to modify policies made for extra-territorial zones within the county.

Economic development director Bob Cole asked to hold an executive session with the commission. Commissioner Gary Yenzer could not reveal specifics about the meeting, but did say that Cole is planning to hold a special training session for the commission to prepare them for the arrival of new businesses along Highway-24.
