Matthew McCrane, K-State’s all-time field goals leader, is getting a shot in the NFL.
First reported by the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo on Tuesday, Matthew McCrane confirmed on Twitter that he is signing with the Oakland Raiders. Oakland is expecting to be without kicker Mike Nugent, who is dealing with a hip injury.
McCrane spent some time with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent during training camp this past offseason. The rookie left K-State as one of the program’s most prolific kickers.
The Texas native finished his career in Manhattan as the program’s career leader in field goals made (57), field goal percentage (86.4) and extra point percentage (99.3). He was also the first kicker in school history to be named an all-conference performer three times.
