The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Officers filed a report for motor vehicle theft in the 800 block of Fremont in Manhattan on October 11, 2019, at approximately 9:00 AM. Officers listed a 36-year-old female as the victim when she reported a known male suspect took her white 1999 Mercedes. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,500.00.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 600 block of S Delaware Ave in Manhattan on October 11, 2019, at approximately 4:15 PM. Officers listed a 52-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown person entered his storage shed, causing damage. Officers filed a report for fraud in the 800 block of Commons Pl in Manhattan on October 11, 2019 at approximately 7:30 PM. Officers listed a 29-year-old female as the victim when she reported an unknown suspect posed as police on the phone and scammed her out of money using the gift card scam. Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery in Manhattan on October 12, 2019, at approximately 1:30 AM. Officers listed a 17-year-old female as the victim and a 21-year-old male as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property near the intersection of Ocean Drive and Merced Drive in Manhattan on October 13, 2019, at approximately 2:50 PM. Officers listed 67-year old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect damaged the window on his 2015 white Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk. Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of 3rd and Vattier in Manhattan on October 13, 2019, at approximately 7:30 PM. When officers arrived on scene, they found 2001 white Chevrolet Cruze driven by Jose Fernandez, 18, of Manhattan, turned and was struck by a 2003 white Chevrolet C25 pickup driven by Taylor Gropp,18, of Concordia. Fernandez was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way making a left turn. Fernandez was transported to Via Christi for treatment of his injuries.

Officers filed a report for motor vehicle theft in the 1700 block of Manhattan Ave in Manhattan on October 13, 2019, at approximately 9:55 PM. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his 2001 black Infiniti 37X while he was making a delivery.
