St. Thomas More will be holding its Community Christmas Dinner in a drive thru format again this year.
This year will mark the 10th year of the Community Christmas Dinner. Pastor Michael Ide says the event started when a volunteer wanted to help with a Thanksgiving dinner, but didn’t need any more volunteers .
In the past, when the event was sit down, over 100 volunteers were utilized for this event, with almost 100 volunteers this year. Volunteer Coordinator Kathleen Jones says they plan to serve as much as 450 people this year.
The menu also includes mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, a role, and the choice of fresh baked pumpkin or apple pie.
The church is expecting to serve around 450 people for this year’s dinner. Ide explains how the process will work for the event.
After getting their meals, the next station will have Santa and his elves giving out gifts for each guest. Jones says people also have the ability to donate to the event.
