Several thousand local residents flooded City park for the first night of this year’s Purple Power Play, Wednesday evening.
The event is usually held on Poyntz Ave, but was moved due to road construction.
Over 100 vendors are participating in this year’s event, the most ever.
The K-State Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Classy Cats, members of the K-State football team and baseball team, all made appearances during the first night. The Mikey Needleman Band also performed during Wednesday’s pep rally.
Purple Power Play continues this evening at 6, and will feature entertainment from David Oakleaf & The Open Road, and will conclude with a fireworks display.
