WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A trial is scheduled this week for a Wichita man accused of driving under the influence and speeding before a head-on accident killed a Wichita State student.
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Tommie Lee Cameron had a crack pipe on July 25, 2010, when his car plowed into a vehicle stopped at a Wichita intersection. That car’s driver, 21-year-old Kari Rinehart, died. Her twin sister and their roommate were hurt.
KFDI reports Cameron has a prison record that includes convictions for aggravated battery, criminal threat charges and aggravated assault.
