WICHITA, Kan. — One Wichita woman is facing six years in federal prison after supplying the weapon that was used to kill three people.
According to the office of US Attorney Stephen McAllister, 35-year-old Myrta Rangel of Wichita, Kansas pleaded guilty to giving a gun to a convicted felon and a person she knew would use it in a drug trafficking crime.
Rangel admitted she took part in a drug trafficking conspiracy with Jereme Nelson and others. She admitted to giving the gun to Nelson for him to carry to collect a drug debt. Nelson shot and killed three people. After the killing Rangel and Nelson fled to Mexico. Eventually, Mexican authorities returned them to the United States for prosecution.
Rangel is now facing six years in federal prison.
