    RCPD report 3/31/16

    Ryan King, 22, of Manhattan was arrested on Wednesday at approximately 9:20 p.m. while in the 800 block of Bertrand Street following a drug investigation. King was arrested on the offenses of distributing marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia to grow or manufacture, unlawful possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a bond of $20,000 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stemmed from a drug investigation which led to a search warrant of 823 Bertrand Street.


     

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department took Xavier Castro, 17, of Manhattan into custody for the offense of aggravated robbery on Wednesday at approximately 1 p.m. while in the 700 block of Osage Street. This arrest stems from an incident that RCPD first alerted to the community to on Monday. Castro was given no bond and was transported to the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility.


     

    Police are investigating a report of theft in the 400 block of Fort Riley Blvd. which occurred on Wednesday at approximately 11:40 p.m. Officers on scene found that an unknown Hispanic male with a shaved head and mustache took several items belonging to John Zeller, 73, of Manhattan. These items included a wallet with U.S. currency and an iPhone (total estimated loss is approximately $2,325.00) and where taken without force. Officers continue to investigate the matter and as this case is ongoing no further information was available to release at the time of this report.
