A four-vehicle accident disrupted traffic at the intersection of Fort Riley Boulevard and Fourth Street just before noon on Friday.
An officer with the Riley County Police Department said two people were transported to the hospital via ambulance and the seriousness of the injuries are not yet known.
Witnesses on the scene — including the driver of the black car — said the white Camaro was westbound on Fort Riley Boulevard and tried to speed past the traffic light at the intersection when it struck another vehicle, driven by an elderly woman, that was turning left. After it struck that vehicle, the Camaro struck the black car and sandwiched it into a yellow semi-truck, which were both eastbound.
Public officials are encouraging drivers to find an alternate route if going in the direction of the accident as clean-up continues. KMAN will bring you the latest updates as more information is available.
